Ultra X Clinical Working Principle & Operation Protocol

Working Principle & Clinical Indications

1. Core Ultrasonic Effects

Cavitation Effect: Mass tiny gas bubbles form, expand and burst inside irrigation liquid, generating strong impact force for deep canal cleaning.

Acoustic Streaming: Ultrasonic waves create directional liquid flow and acoustic turbulence to push irrigants deep into complex root canal structures.

2. Clinical Indications

  • Complete smear layer removal and open blocked dentinal tubules
  • Eliminate residual dentin chips and soft tissue debris
  • Disrupt biofilm and reduce bacterial load inside root canals
  • Clean hard-to-reach complex canal anatomy: isthmuses, fins, lateral canals, apical ramifications; eliminate vapour lock

3. Standard Clinical Operation Protocol

  1. Shape and finish root canal to the target size with endo files first
  2. Fill the canal with disinfectant irrigation solution; never run the device without liquid
  3. Select matching size/length tip that fits passively, keep tip 2–3mm away from the apex
  4. Activate liquid with gentle short vertical strokes for 30 seconds; avoid touching apical 2mm and forced wedging
  5. Replenish irrigation fluid, suction out loose debris, repeat the process 4–5 times
  6. Dry the canal thoroughly before final obturation

Clinical Tip: Always isolate teeth with rubber dam and wear full personal protective equipment including head light, mask and safety glasses.
